Our 1870s white barn, crowned with its signature red roof, blends historic charm with modern elegance as a beautifully restored wedding venue. From the outside, the barn’s crisp white siding and classic silhouette evoke a simpler era, standing proudly against the landscape as it has for more than a century in Highland County. But it’s once you step inside that its character truly comes alive.
Massive hand-hewn beams—each shaped with care by 19th-century craftsmen—span the interior, their axe marks still visible and their warm wood tones creating a natural, romantic atmosphere. These historic timbers rise above the space like the framework of a rustic cathedral, lending authenticity and quiet grandeur to every celebration held within.
Soft lighting, open gathering spaces, and the barn’s original architectural details come together to create a setting that is both timeless and inviting. Whether bathed in afternoon sunlight or glowing warmly under evening string lights, the barn offers an unforgettable backdrop for weddings—where the beauty of the past meets the joy of the present in a space built to hold memories.
In 2019, we stumbled upon the 187 acre farm with sweeping tranquil countryside views overlooking a beautiful lake and it captured our attention. The barn, weathered by time but full of character, stood proudly on its land—with hand-hewn beams and the kind of craftsmanship you just don’t see anymore. Even through the dust and dirt, we could see its beauty and the stories tucked into every board and nail.
Where others saw a relic, we saw potential nestled on a quaint Highland County backroad.
We purchased the farm and later that same year we decided to bring the barn back to life—not just as a restored historic structure, but as a place where new memories could be made. The transformation was both a labor of love and a leap of faith. We spent two years renovating and restoring, updating floors, windows, doors, uncovering architectural details that had been hidden for decades, and blending in modern comforts without losing the spirit of the 19th-century craftsmanship.
Slowly, the barn began to reveal its charm. The old rafters gleamed again, the sunlight returned through newly restored windows, and the space opened up in a way that felt both grand and intimate. By the time we finished, the barn had become something truly special—a wedding venue that honors its past while creating a unique breathtaking backdrop for the celebrations of today.
What began as a forgotten piece of history is now a place where couples say their vows, families gather, and stories continue to unfold. Our 1870s barn found new life—and we’re grateful to share it with others on their most meaningful days.
